Activities: Archery, Team Building, Fire building, and Missouri Country

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The Fall Camp/Outdoor Activities Staff at Ozarks Regional YMCA ensures that seasonal outdoor education programs meet community needs by implementing existing program activities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Assist in implementation of Outdoor Education program
    • Participate in Outdoor Education training.
    • Facilitate classes and follow curriculum when working with visiting school groups.
    • Facilitate Archery and Firebuilding curriculum.
    • Run lakefront activities such as boating and fishing
    • Predict, prevent, identify and respond to safety issues.
    • Communicate with all guests in a mature, responsible fashion.
    • Assist in program development and advancement.
    • Participate in daily cleaning of program buildings as assigned
    • Work in other departments or program areas as assigned.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Must be 18 years old with high school diploma or equivalent.

  • Must be available throughout the fall semester (September 1st-November 1st)

  • Must be able to align with and demonstrate the YMCA four core values on a consistent basis.

  • CPR Pro & First Aid Certification required within first 30 days (training can be provided)

  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
