Position Description:
CGI is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Automation Test Engineer to join our team supporting a leading Investment Banking client. The role involves working on a calculation intensive financial application with a Windows based UI and Microservices backend. The ideal candidate should have a strong analytical mindset, an eagerness to learn and a keen interest in automation and performance testing.
This position is located on-site in Cary, NC - in a hybrid model.
Your future duties and responsibilities:
. Analyze business and functional requirements and create comprehensive test scenarios and test cases.
. Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using the existing Java based Spring Boot, Cucumber BDD automation framework.
. Validate and enhance automation coverage for new features and requirements.
. Perform end to end API and backend automation testing for microservices based applications.
. Execute complex validation of financial calculations, including Large scale JSON response validations.
. Perform database validation using SQL queries.
. Execute performance, load, and stress testing using JMeter for calculation intensive application components.
. Identify, report, and track defects using JIRA.
. Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and QA team members to ensure high quality software delivery.
. Participate in code reviews and maintain automation scripts in Bitbucket.
. Continuously improve the automation framework and testing processes.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
. At least 5 years of experience as an Automation Test Engineer
. Must have financial/banking experience
. Java based Spring Boot, Cucumber BDD automation framework.
. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
. Ability to understand complex business requirements and financial calculations.
. Experience in creating test scenarios, test cases, and automation strategies.
. Ability to estimate and validate automation coverage for new requirements.
. A proactive and self-driven individual with a passion for quality engineering.
. Strong willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and testing methodologies.
. Interest in building expertise in both Automation Testing and Performance Testing.
. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit-based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $79,600.00 $139,300.00.
