Job description


Role: Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider (NP/PA)
Hilo, Hawaii
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct patient evaluations, histories, and physical exams for new and follow-up cardiology patients
• Manage and monitor patients with cardiovascular conditions such as hypertension, coronary artery disease, atrial fibrillation, heart failure, and hyperlipidemia
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including EKGs, Holter monitors, echocardiograms, and stress tests
• Assist in care coordination for procedures or specialty referrals
• Provide inpatient cardiology consults and follow-ups (if applicable)
• Participate in hospital rounds, discharge planning, and transitions of care
• Educate patients and families on lifestyle changes, medications, and disease management
• Collaborate closely with supervising cardiologists, primary care providers, and support staff
Requirements
Requirements:
• Current and unrestricted license as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) in Hawaii, or eligibility to obtain one
• National certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1-2 years cardiology or internal medicine experience preferred; strong new graduates with relevant rotations or RN cardiology background considered
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Comfortable working independently with physician support
• EMR experience (Epic or equivalent preferred)
