We are seeking an experienced Aviation Electrical Engineer with a strong background in airfield electrical design, construction management, and project delivery to join our growing Aviation division in any of our Northeast office locations.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and construction administration of airfield electrical projects, including runway and taxiway lighting systems, navigational aids (NAVAIDs), signage, power distribution systems, and related airport infrastructure.
  • Prepare and oversee the development of engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical reports, and contract documents in accordance with FAA standards and applicable codes.
  • Manage projects through all phases, from conceptual planning and design through bidding, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Provide construction management services, including contractor coordination, submittal review, field inspections, change order evaluation, and project documentation.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop engineering and technical staff while ensuring quality control and adherence to project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with airport owners, FAA representatives, regulatory agencies, contractors, and multidisciplinary design teams.
  • Support business development activities, including client relationship management, proposal preparation, interviews, and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Develop project scopes of work, staffing plans, schedules, and fee proposals for aviation projects.
  • Participate in marketing efforts, attend industry conferences, participate in professional societies and associations, and identify opportunities for new and repeat business.
  • Ensure compliance with FAA Advisory Circulars, airport design standards, electrical codes, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team-oriented environment while providing leadership on complex assignments.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
  • PE required
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience leading FAA-compliant aviation electrical projects
  • Managing technical staff
  • Developing client relationships and supporting business growth initiatives.
  • Requires both technical expertise and leadership skills to successfully deliver complex airport and airfield infrastructure projects
