A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A DIETARY AIDE

As a Dietary Aide, you play a vital role in our community. Without you, we would not be able to provide quality service in delivering meals to our residents! You assist in preparing and serving meals to our residents, starting with carefully setting up trays and serving regular meals, preparing snack items and food requests for special events. You deliver a high level of customer service by distributing food in accordance with dietary guidelines and individual resident meals according to specified diet orders and an approved menu.

With a close eye for detail, you ensure the quality and temperature of food items. You also deliver and retrieve trays by the end of meal dining time and wash dishes.

You take great care to enhance safety and sanitary conditions which may include, but not limited to, picking up food and trash, cleaning tables, chairs, and other food service equipment and utensils. You live up to the trust of those in your care by complying with applicable federal, state and local laws, rules, and regulations, maintaining knowledge of and following all company policies and procedures. Your warm and friendly demeanor makes it easy for you to provide excellent customer service and build relationships with residents, their families, visitors, and your colleagues. QUALIFICATIONS FOR A DIETARY AIDE

  • Must have ability to perform basic math, understand measurements and follow written and oral instructions.
  • No experience required. Wage range is based upon years of experience. A willingness to learn is needed, on the job training is provided!
  • Solid communication skills, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate resident needs.
  • Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors and team members.

Experience in a geriatric nursing facility is preferred but not required. Are you trustworthy and respectful of others? Is being dependable, professional, and a team player at the heart of all you do? Do you enjoy serving and caring for seniors? WORK SCHEDULE
