Position Highlights
Join the heart of campus life at the University of Arizona Student Unions, where culinary creativity meets community. The University is looking for a Cook, Lead to prepare, season and cook a wide variety of food for various food service units. This position also cooks according to recipes and requires knowledge of basic kitchen equipment and leads the work of the kitchen and ensures quality.
This position may be required to work weekends, nights, days and holidays.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Prepares acomplete selection of dishes and other menu items.
- Reviews recipesand makes necessary changes to meet production requirements.
- UtilizesFoodPro for recipes.
- Advises cookson proper method of preparation.
- Checks fornecessary product and reports shortages to Supervisors.
- Coordinates andplaces produce order.
- Coordinatesmeat and fish order and communicates needs to warehouse Lead.
- Checks walk-insand freezer for proper product rotation to control product waste.
- UtilizesFoodPro for recipes.
- Advises cookson proper method of preparation.
- Communicateschanges or specials with cooks on a daily basis.
- Writes all newrecipes using standard dining services recipe form so they can be added to FoodPro.
- Keeps recipesupdated so that they reflect actual ingredients and amounts used thus ensuringthat they are priced accordingly and nutritionally accurate.
- Yield testsrecipes for accuracy.
- Greets andserves customers in a friendly courteous manner.
- Providessuggestions and input to supervisor.
Knowledge,Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):
- Knowledge of weights and measures.
- Knowledge of food service operations including large quantity food preparation.
- Skill in operating various institutional/commercial kitchen equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
PhysicalRequirements:
- Occasionally lift, transfer or move a maximum of 50 lbs.

In compliance with the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act (Clery Act), each year the University of Arizona releases an Annual Security Report (ASR) for each of the University's campuses.Thesereports disclose information including Clery crime statistics for the previous three calendar years and policies, procedures, and programs the University uses to keep students and employees safe, including how to report crimes or other emergencies and resources for crime victims. As a campus with residential housing facilities, the Main Campus ASR also includes a combined Annual Fire Safety report with information on fire statistics and fire safety systems, policies, and procedures.
