Job description

Howard & Howard is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Legal Assistant to join our Las Vegas, NV office. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support Attorneys and Paralegals throughout all stages of litigation. The ideal candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and strong organizational skills, along with the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the firm. A high level of accuracy, multitasking ability, and a commitment to confidentiality are essential. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.


Key responsibilities: In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative and litigation support tasks, including but not limited to:


  • Managing assigned attorneys’ calendars, dockets and appointments
  • Making extensive and frequent travel arrangements when necessary
  • Electronic filing in state and federal courts as needed
  • Screening incoming client calls and correspondence and responding as necessary
  • Composing and preparing emails, confidential correspondence, reports and other complex documents
  • Maintaining client files both electronically (in NetDocs) and in physical format
  • Maintaining and complete extensive attorney time entry and billing
  • Providing back-up support to other legal assistants
  • Performing other duties as assigned


Successful candidates should demonstrate the following competencies: 

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with attorneys, staff, and clients
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to track and manage projects through completion
  • Ability to interact professionally with clients and colleagues through videoconference, telephone, and in person
  • Strong knowledge and experience of state and federal court e-filing procedures and trial preparation
  • Ability to handle heavy workloads efficiently and accurately
  • Maintain a collaborative and team-oriented approach to the workplace
  • High proficiency in Office 365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
