Legal Assistant - Litigation
World-class law firm in Birmingham is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to assist attorneys with commercial litigation and real estate litigation cases.  Ideal candidate must have at least five years of prior commercial litigation and commercial real estate experience.  Responsibilities include: Transcription of digital dictation; Preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, motions, and pre-trial pleadings; Maintain professional interactions with clients in person, via telephone and/or e-mail; Manage attorney calendars, including hearing dates, court deadlines, deposition dates, and meetings/appointments; Prior Knowledge and experience preparing, navigating and E-filing documents in Federal and State Court and familiarity with court rules is necessary.
Candidate must have strong proofreading skills, be detail oriented and have a positive attitude and like to be part of a team. Candidates must be energetic, self-motivated, possess strong computer and organizational skills with excellent oral and written communication ability. Qualities including superior time management skills, attention to detail, reliability, and ability to manage a busy attorney schedule, are a must, as is prior experience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Adobe.
This is a direct hire in-office position with excellent benefits, semi-annual bonuses and a friendly work environment.
