Associate Attorney – Intellectual Property (Trademark, Copyright & AI Litigation)

Direct Counsel is seeking an Associate Attorney to join a prestigious international law firm with a nationally recognized intellectual property and technology litigation practice. This is an exciting opportunity for an attorney with 2–4 years of experience handling trademark, copyright, trade secret, AI, and technology-related disputes. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge litigation involving emerging technologies, including generative AI, while representing innovative companies and globally recognized brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage intellectual property and technology litigation matters involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, false advertising, and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop litigation and enforcement strategies for complex IP disputes.
  • Advise clients on legal risks related to product development and emerging technologies.
  • Conduct legal research, draft motions and briefs, and prepare other litigation-related documents.
  • Oversee discovery, including coordinating e-discovery efforts with clients and vendors.
  • Collaborate with attorneys across multiple practice areas to provide comprehensive legal solutions.
  • Participate in all phases of litigation, including trial preparation where applicable.
  • Maintain strong client relationships through effective communication and strategic counsel.
Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • 2–4 years of litigation experience involving one or more of the following:
    • Trademark law
    • Copyright law
    • Trade secret litigation
    • False advertising
    • Artificial intelligence-related disputes
  • Working knowledge of relevant laws such as the Lanham Act, Copyright Act, DMCA, trade secret statutes, CFAA, or related technology laws.
  • Trial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and client-facing communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
  • Active bar membership in the jurisdiction where applying, or eligibility to practice in that office.
Compensation

Salary Range: $235,000 – $310,000, depending on experience, qualifications, and office location.
