Role Description The Associate will be a full-time, on-site team member located in Birmingham, AL, supporting the firmโ€™s legal practice through case preparation, client communication, and courtroom advocacy. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings, motions, and contracts, reviewing case documents, and assisting with discovery. The Associate will meet with clients, attend court hearings and depositions, and coordinate with opposing counsel, court personnel, and other stakeholders. The role involves managing case files, tracking deadlines, and contributing to strategy discussions to achieve favorable outcomes. The Associate will also participate in firm meetings, assist with business development initiatives when needed, and maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with firm policies. There is not any work-life balance until you learn your position.

Qualifications


  • Strong legal research and writing abilities, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Proficiency in case analysis, evidence review, and discovery preparation, with attention to detail and organization.
  • Effective client communication skills, including interviewing, advising, and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Comfort with courtroom procedures, including attending hearings, negotiating with opposing counsel, and presenting arguments.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active license to practice law in Alabama or eligibility for prompt admission.

  • Proficiency with legal practice management software, document management tools, and standard office applications.
