Job description

A well-established regional law firm with a strong presence across Louisiana and Texas is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate to join its Casualty and Mass Tort Practice Group in either Baton Rouge or Houston. The firm represents national corporations, energy and industrial companies, insurers, and regional businesses in complex litigation matters. Attorneys work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment handling sophisticated disputes from inception through trial.
This role offers a clear partnership-track opportunity for attorneys looking to grow within a stable, team-oriented platform.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The firm is seeking a lateral associate with 5+ years of general litigation experience. The successful candidate will work closely with partners on all phases of casualty and mass tort litigation, including high-exposure matters and complex, multi-party cases. Associates are expected to take on meaningful responsibility, including client interaction and independent case management.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage a litigation caseload from inception through resolution
  • Conduct and defend depositions
  • Draft and argue motions
  • Prepare and respond to discovery
  • Participate in rapid response investigations and case reporting
  • Handle court appearances and trial preparation
  • Communicate directly with clients and provide strategic updates
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 5 years of litigation experience
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, and discovery experience
  • Ability to independently manage cases and meet deadlines
  • Excellent research, writing, and advocacy skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Demonstrated ability and desire to build and maintain client relationships
  • Licensed and in good standing in Louisiana and/or Texas, depending on office location
