Our client is seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney to join its growing trucking and transportation defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 3+ years of litigation experience who is looking to expand into trucking and transportation defense. While prior trucking defense experience is a plus, it is not required. Attorneys with experience in insurance defense, personal injury, civil litigation, or other litigation practices are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
Manage a litigation caseload involving trucking and transportation matters from inception through resolution.
Represent motor carriers, commercial drivers, and insurers in a variety of civil litigation matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategies.
Take and defend depositions and participate in hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings as needed.
Communicate regularly with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, and experts.
Maintain case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
Collaborate with partners and team members to deliver effective legal representation.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active license and good standing with the Pennsylvania state bar.
3+ years of civil litigation experience.
Prior experience in trucking or transportation defense is preferred but not required.
Candidates with backgrounds in insurance defense, personal injury, general civil litigation, or other litigation practices are encouraged to apply.
Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
Ability to independently manage a caseload while working collaboratively with a team.
