Job description

Myers & Myers, PLLC, a real estate and business law firm serving clients throughout Michigan, is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant. This is a hands-on role for a highly organized professional who understands and takes ownership of the details of a litigation practice. In our close-knit office, every team member has a meaningful impact on our clients and our work.

Responsibilities:

  • Format and file litigation documents (pleadings, motions, discovery)
  • Manage e-filing in Michigan state and federal courts in compliance with court rules
  • Maintain litigation calendars, tracking deadlines, hearings, statutes of limitation, and discovery cut-offs
  • Open, organize, and maintain electronic and physical case files
  • Coordinate scheduling of depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
  • Assist attorneys with discovery and trial preparation
  • Communicate professionally with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and vendors


Qualifications:

  • Prior litigation experience in a law firm
  • Working knowledge of Michigan and federal court procedures, including e-filing
  • Exceptional organization and the ability to juggle multiple deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Word, document management systems; experience with Clio a plus
