Job description

Director of People and Culture – South Florida Operations
Must reside in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach or Naples
Fluent in English and Spanish (required)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
The Opportunity
At Pool Centurion, People amp; Culture isn't about sitting behind a desk or planning pizza parties, it's about being in the business.
We're looking for a hands-on Director of People amp; Culture who thrives in a fast-paced, field-based environment and enjoys partnering directly with operational leaders to build great teams, strengthen leadership, and create an exceptional employee experience.
This is a highly visible role responsible for leading all aspects of People amp; Culture across our growing South Florida operations. You'll work side-by-side with our CEO, COO, and branch leaders to recruit, develop, engage, and retain a high-performing workforce while helping managers become stronger leaders.
Success in this role requires someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves. You'll spend time in our branches, coach managers through employee challenges, support recruiting efforts, improve onboarding, strengthen communication, and build practical people processes that help our business grow.
This is not a traditional corporate HR role. We're looking for a business partner who enjoys solving problems, building relationships, and making a visible impact throughout the organization.
What You’ll Do
Partner with Operations
  • Serve as the primary People amp; Culture partner to the CEO, COO, and branch leadership teams.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and managers by maintaining a visible presence across branch locations.
  • Coach supervisors through employee relations, performance management, conflict resolution, and difficult conversations.
  • Partner with operational leaders to improve communication, accountability, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Help create a culture where employees feel supported while maintaining high performance expectations.
Recruit, Hire amp; Retain Great People
  • Lead the organization's talent acquisition strategy and full-cycle recruiting efforts for hourly, skilled trades, management, and corporate positions.
  • Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies that improve hiring quality and reduce time-to-fill.
  • Build relationships within local communities, trade schools, referral networks, and other recruiting sources.
  • Coach hiring managers on interviewing, candidate selection, and hiring best practices to improve consistency and hiring decisions.
  • Improve onboarding and new hire integration to increase retention and accelerate productivity.
  • Analyze recruiting and turnover metrics to identify trends and implement practical hiring and retention initiatives.
Lead Employee Relations
  • Personally manage employee relations matters, workplace investigations, corrective action, and performance coaching.
  • Ensure fair, consistent application of company policies.
  • Support branch managers with employee coaching and documentation.
  • Promote a positive, respectful, and accountable workplace culture.
Develop Leaders
  • Coach frontline managers to become stronger leaders.
  • Improve manager onboarding, communication, and leadership capability.
  • Support performance review processes, career development, and succession planning for key operational roles.
  • Help leaders build engaged, high-performing teams.
Build Practical People Processes
  • Maintain HR policies, compliance, and employment practices across all locations.
  • Partner with Payroll and Operations to ensure a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
  • Utilize Paycor and other systems to improve reporting, workflows, and efficiency.
  • Monitor workforce metrics including turnover, retention, recruiting activity, and employee engagement.
  • Recommend practical solutions that improve operations and support business growth.
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience supporting operational, field-based, or multi-location organizations.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (required).
  • Must currently reside in South Florida (Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Naples).
  • Strong employee relations and workplace investigation experience.
  • Experience supporting hourly and field-based workforces.
  • Proven success coaching managers and developing frontline leaders.
  • Experience recruiting both hourly and management-level employees.
  • Working knowledge of Florida employment law.
  • Experience administering HRIS systems such as Paycor.
  • Comfortable working independently in a lean organization where leaders are expected to execute, not delegate.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between branch locations.
Skills you need:
  • Employee Relations
  • Talent Acquisition
  • Leadership Development
  • HR Business Partner
  • Performance Management
  • Multi-Site Operations
  • HR Compliance
  • HRIS (Paycor Preferred)
  • Change Management
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Why You’ll Love This Opportunity
  • Partner directly with an experienced CEO and executive leadership team.
  • Make an immediate impact on a growing organization.
  • Help shape the employee experience across multiple South Florida locations.
  • Build practical people programs that strengthen leadership, improve retention, and support operational excellence.
  • Join a collaborative, entrepreneurial culture where your ideas and contributions will have visible impact.
