Job description

Job Summary:

The Logistics Coordinator plays a key role in synchronizing the efficient flow of resources (assets and personnel) throughout our branch operations. The Coordinator is organized and adept at problem solving. A solid understanding of logistical operations is important for success.

Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safety practices and procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Maintain compliance with all DOT regulations for branch’s fleet and CDL drivers
  • Manage all CDL drivers and yard personnel; coordinate and plan transportation, shipping and delivery schedules for on-going projects
  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers and internal teams to ensure timely and cost-effective logistical operations
  • Oversee branch shipping and receiving practices
  • Enforce company policies and procedures with regard to logistics, inventory and fleet management
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and reconcile discrepancies
  • Provide timely updates on shipment status to stakeholders
  • Address inquiries and concerns from customers and branches
  • Implement corrective actions to drive continuous improvement
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings in transportation and logistics operations
  • Ensure necessary shipping documents and permits are precured when required

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of logistics and supply chain processes
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
