Job description

Construction Superintendent

Title: Construction Superintendent.
Location: South Florida job sites (Office Support in Coral Gables, FL).
Company: NOVA Construction Management.
About NOVA Construction Management:
NOVA Construction Management is a high-performing, small general contractor specializing in industrial and commercial interior buildouts. With over 23 years of construction experience on the team, NOVA focuses on large-scale warehouse, cold storage, manufacturing, and office/retail tenant improvements - typically ranging from 50,000 to 800,000 SF and $1M to $20M in construction value. NOVA is especially notable in the industrial warehousing, cold storage, and manufacturing sectors across South Florida.
NOVA operates differently from a typical GC, blending resourcefulness, creativity, and an understanding of ever-changing tenant requirements. Team members are exposed to most construction divisions within a project instead of being siloed, creating a fast-paced, hands-on learning environment. NOVA uses industry-leading tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, and modern digital bid platforms.
Position Overview:
The Construction Superintendent is responsible for day-to-day field operations on industrial and commercial interior buildout projects. This role leads all onsite activity, coordinates subcontractors and inspections, and ensures work is completed safely, on schedule, and to NOVA’s quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage daily field operations for industrial and commercial TI projects.
  • Develop and maintain short-interval (2–3 week) look-ahead schedules with the project manager.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and inspectors to keep work flowing efficiently.
  • Enforce jobsite safety plans and hold partners accountable to OSHA and NOVA requirements.
  • Conduct daily jobsite walks to monitor quality, cleanliness, and progress.
  • Maintain thorough daily reports, photos, and documentation in Procore.
  • Assist with resolving field conflicts through coordination with architects, engineers, and project managers.
  • Support punch list execution and project turnover activities.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of field experience in commercial or industrial construction, with at least 2–3 years as a superintendent or lead foreman for a GC.
  • Experience with industrial warehouses, distribution centers, cold storage, or large office TI is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient with Procore (or similar), email, and basic digital documentation (photos, daily logs).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with a focus on safety, quality, and accountability.
Benefits:
  • Health, dental, and vision insurance options available.
  • Car allowance.
  • Phone allowance.
  • Opportunity to lead field operations on high-profile industrial TI projects in South Florida.
Work Authorization & Location:

  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States; NOVA is not able to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
  • This is an on-site, field-based position. Candidates must already reside in the South Florida area and be able to reliably commute to job sites; relocation assistance is not available.
How to Apply?
  • To apply, please email your resume and a brief introduction to HR@buildwithnovacm.com with the subject line: “Superintendent - [Your Name]”.
