You can design a career you'll love from top to bottom - we give you the tools you need to succeed and the autonomy to reach your goals.

EisnerAmper is seeking a Managing Director and a Director to join Sherwood, one of the leading restructuring and liquidation firms in the country today. Sherwood recently was acquired by EisnerAmper. This role will focus primarily on Assignments for the Benefit of Creditors (ABCs), company wind-downs, liquidating trusts, and related distribution and bankruptcy matters. The Managing Director will lead matters from initial engagement through final distribution, combining hands-on operational decision-making with frequent interaction with venture capital and private equity sponsors, boards, C-level executives, creditors, and equity holders.

What it Means to Work for Sherwood and EisnerAmper:
  • You will get to be part of one of the largest and fastest growing and entrepreneurial accounting and advisory firms in the industry

  • You will join a culture that has received multiple top "Places to Work" awards

    • We believe that great work is accomplished when cultures, ideas and experiences come together to create new solutions

    • We understand that embracing our differences is what unites us as a team and strengthens our foundation

    • Showing up authentically is how we, both as professionals and a Firm, find inspiration to do our best work

What You Will Be Responsible For:
  • Lead nonjudicial wind-downs, ABCs, liquidating trusts, and selected bankruptcy matters from initial engagement through asset liquidation, estate closure, and final distributions

  • Prepare and oversee 13-week and 26-week cash flow projections, liquidity analyses, financial models, and other decision-support materials

  • Advise venture capital and private equity sponsors, investment committees, company boards, and C-level executives on strategic, operational, and financial decisions throughout the wind-down lifecycle

  • Manage asset sales and liquidations, creditor and equity-holder distributions, and stakeholder communications while navigating complex issues outside formal court supervision

  • Lead multiple concurrent engagements and coordinate internal and external resources while maintaining urgency, organization, sound judgment, and clear client expectations

  • Develop and maintain senior client relationships, identify business development opportunities, and collaborate across EisnerAmper service lines to expand relationships and market presence

  • Mentor and develop team members and contribute to the continued growth and scaling of Sherwood Partners' market-leading ABC and restructuring practice

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

  • 8 + years of progressive restructuring, turnaround, insolvency, or bankruptcy advisory experience; backgrounds from established restructuring or consulting firms are strongly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience with informal restructuring, nonjudicial workouts, company wind-downs, ABCs, or comparable out-of-court processes

  • Strong financial modeling, cash flow forecasting, liquidity analysis, and financial acumen

  • Proven ability to communicate credibly and effectively with boards, C-level executives, sponsors, creditors, and other senior stakeholders

  • Ability to manage several time-sensitive engagements simultaneously and respond to client needs outside standard business hours, including periodic weekend work

  • Strong interpersonal skills, sound judgment, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative, personable approach with clients and colleagues

  • Demonstrated ability to develop client relationships; an existing network and business origination experience are valued

Preferred/Desired Qualifications:
  • MBA or other relevant advanced degree preferred

  • CPA, CIRA, CTP, CFA, or another relevant professional certification preferred

About Sherwood Partners and Financial Advisory Services (FAS):
