We are looking for a Linux System Administrator to work with one of our clients, an international bank based in Montreal.


CONTEXT AND ROLE OBJECTIVES:

As part of the Linux System Administration team, you will join a Level 3 support team specializing in technical expertise. Collaborating with the Product Owner and Scrum Master, your role will involve maintaining a secure, efficient, and stable Linux IT system. You'll also manage the lifecycle of standards and procedures alongside your team.


KEY RESPONSABILITIES:

Linux System Engineering

-Improve tools and processes for managing RedHat servers.

-Collaborate with development teams to define technical architectures while respecting standards and security requirements.

-Manage incidents, problems, and updates for systems maintained by the team.


Automation

-Develop automated processes and support storage and backup entities.

-Gather functional requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

-Develop APIs using Python.


Privilege Management

-Implementation of a solution for collecting data from local accounts on Linux and Windows machines, aligned with the objectives outlined above.

-Continuous improvement of the data collection infrastructure, focusing on architecture, security, functional catalog expansion, geographical scope extension, and comprehensive documentation.

-Investigation and resolution of issues related to the collection of local account data, ensuring system reliability and performance.

-Expertise in Linux Red Hat Enterprise, Bash scripting, Python, PostgreSQL, and FastAPI is essential.

-Familiarity with SCCM and PowerShell is a plus.


Lifecycle Management

-Regularly patch and update OS templates for virtualized or physical environments.

-Maintain and evolve operational and security conditions for Linux systems.

-Monitor obsolescence and ensure up-to-date documentation.


Incident Analysis and Resolution

-Support frontline analysis to resolve production incidents.

-Participate in scheduled on-call rotations or project-specific interventions.


ENVIRONMENT:

-Internal private cloud and non-cloud offerings.

-Technologies: Linux Red Hat, scripting (Shell, Python, Packer), Jenkins Pipelines, Red Hat Satellite.

-Linux Server Administration: Red Hat

-Automation Tools: Puppet, Python, Ansible, Red Hat IDM

-Storage: SAN

-Other: API development, scripting


PROFILE:

Required Skills and Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.

-Strong communication skills.

-In-depth knowledge of Linux system administration and scripting automation.

-Expertise in distributed software architectures and Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

-Development skills in Shell, Python, Git, and PostgreSQL.

-Experience with FastAPI.


Nice to Have:

-Leadership experience.

-Prior experience in a Linux expert role.

-Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

-Candidates must be located in Montreal or willing to relocate
