Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately adding a full-time Hardware Technician in support of our industry leading technology development client in Oklahoma City, OK. Our client is seeking candidates who are driven to make positive changes to the way people live and work by creating breakthrough technology solutions.
Overview:
In this role, you will be supporting the Company supercomputer for the OpenAI in Denver, CO or Oklahoma City. Reporting 3-4 days to the customer's site, working with both the customer and remote company teams, you will be part of the site team maintaining the systems availability and uptime, to assure customer's SLA is met. This position will include daily Break fix work, with extensive troubleshooting and part replacement work across the system. Working at the direction of customer, you will respond directly to customer requests and assignments, provide them technical and operational support along with guidance as needed.
Responsibilities:
* Maintain Linux Supercomputer systems availability to the customer
* Preform hardware diagnostics and repairs as required
* Gather data, perform analysis, and escalate problems to higher-level product support groups and appropriate management when necessary to ensure timely resolution of system or customer issues
* Understands a broad spectrum of company technology in order to provide part or all of a detailed technical design which meets customer requirements
* Works with and under the direction of the Project/Technical Manager and with customer nominated representatives
* Provides advice on solution and integration opportunities to defined segments
* Communicates across client community and is viewed as adding value
* Demonstrates execution of the company strategy
* Contributes to knowledge tools and communities and ensures project learnings are documented and shared
* Role models knowledge sharing and re-use within practice or profession
REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor of Arts/Science or equivalent degree in computer science or related area of study; without a degree, three additional years of relevant professional experience (8+ years in total)
* 5+ years of Linux company-related experience, ideally with large-scale company system administration and hardware support
* Strong experience with current versions of Linux/Unix operating systems, file systems, networking and security (Red Hat/CentOS or its equivalent)
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment
* Excellent interpersonal, customer relations and problem management skills, with the ability to stay calm and professional under pressure while working to strict deadlines
* Able to clearly document processes and procedures
* Occasional travel for training and hardware repairs in Denver, CO or Oklahoma City, OK will be required
* Able to demonstrate the professionalism of the job family
* Ability to work in a multi-technology environment with the ability to diagnose complex technical problems to their root cause
* Has mastered at least one technical discipline with strong knowledge in at least three major technology areas
* Possesses advanced level of technical, or functional knowledge
* Has ability to perform/drive resolution of problems on combinations and interactions of products
* Demonstrates the use of consulting skills including: questioning, listening, ideas development, permission and rapport, and influencing
* Ability to conduct/lead oral stattechnical interchange meetings with clients on small to medium sized engagements
* Ability to work with a team to provide reports/documentation for delivery
* Working knowledge and/or experience with Linux operating systems (RHEL or SLES) is preferred
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
