IT Support Specialist Intern – Linux Server Administration

Position Overview:

Choctaw Global LLC is seeking two (2) IT Support Specialist Interns with a focus on Linux server administration. This role provides hands-on experience managing server environments, monitoring performance, while supporting system reliability and security.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain Linux servers (installation, configuration, patching)
  • Monitor system performance and ensure up-time and security
  • Troubleshoot server-related issues and implement solutions to manage those issues
  • Manage backups, recovery processes, and system updates

Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Linux systems (e.g., Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar)
  • Understanding of server administration concepts and best practices
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with virtualization or cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Basic scripting (Bash)
  • Knowledge of system security best practices

Work Environment
