Position: Vmware Administrator

Job Description:

The VMware Administrator will report to and work closely with the Manager of Server Operations, in supporting the entire client VMware server infrastructure for the US.. Primary responsibilities will consist of optimizing and implementing systems that consist of Microsoft OS, Linux, and EMC. The candidate should be familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.

Responsibilities:

Optimize and implement systems that consist of Microsoft OS, Linux, and EMC

Ensures the stability and compatibility of the server environment in conjunction with the rest of the server engineering team; core skill set should include EMC, Linux, Microsoft, AD, VMware hypervisor and virtualization monitoring tools

Performs a variety of complicated tasks

Be intimately acquainted with virtualized server offerings, especially those based on VMware

Requirements:

Strong knowledge of Vmware vSphere administration within a Cisco Unified Computing System environment

MUST have extremely strong Microsoft systems skills

Expert knowledge of Linux in an enterprise environment

Expert knowledge of Active Directory, OU's, and script execution, windows shares and DFS

Strong knowledge/experience in Group Policy Administration

Above average knowledge of Powershell

Proficiency with Cisco switches and networking concepts

Intermediate backup and disaster recovery in an enterprise environment, preferably EMC Networker

Work with the OS Support teams to resolve any O/S, hardware, or network based issues

EMC XtermIO knowledge

Proficiency in Windows 2012 Active Directory and servers

Familiarity with auditing tools for Active Directory and servers

Familiarity with enterprise management tools

Very good communication skills

Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills

Ability to understand problems and create a remediation process
