Job description

MANTECH seeks an experienced and passionate, career and customer-oriented Systems Engineer to join our team located in the Fort Meade, MD area.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Deploy and maintain IT automation solutions to manage data repositories within secure, isolated network architectures.
  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-level virtualized environments and infrastructure.
  • Engineer and optimize scalable storage solutions and complex file system configurations.
  • Author and present technical program documentation and briefings for senior-level management and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate and deploy new technologies into existing production environments.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for comprehensive system configurations.
  • Conduct regular system and software audits to ensure operational integrity and compliance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field and 14+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience; or an Associate's degree with 19+ years’ experience.
  • Extensive experience with Linux engineering and administration.
  • Proficiency in the configuration and orchestration of containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker, or Rancher).
  • Proficiency with DevOps and monitoring tools such as nxLog, Grafana, and Git.
  • Proficiency in Bash scripting and infrastructure automation using Ansible or SaltStack.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to automate data flow between distributed systems; hands-on experience with NiFi to forward log events to repositories.
  • Experience orchestrating and managing enterprise virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere/vCenter).
  • Ability to automate database backups, migrations, and service availability.
  • Experience implementing automated security hardening (STIGs/CIS).

Clearance Requirement: 

  • Current/Active TS/SCI with Poly

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 50% of the time.
  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
  • Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as, the copy machine/fax machine/computer/printer.
