Description: The On-Site Senior Systems Administrator will oversee the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of enterprise computer systems, network servers, virtualized infrastructure, and automated data integration workflows. This role involves configuring web services, managing secure SFTP connections, and utilizing automation tools and custom scripts to maintain data pipelines between law enforcement and government systems. Operating across hybrid cloud and on-premises environments, the ideal candidate will troubleshoot system diagnostics, maintain database connections, and ensure high availability and security across all hosted infrastructure. Senior Systems Administrator Job Duties: * Oversee the installation, maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of physical and virtual server infrastructure across Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms.
* Manage, configure, and troubleshoot web servers (Apache Tomcat, Apache HTTP), Java Servlets, web services (WSDLs), and API interfaces to facilitate secure information sharing.
* Administer secure file transfer protocol (SFTP) connections, custom thin-client scripts, security certificates, Java KeyStores (JKS), and encryption configurations.
* Develop, maintain, and utilize automated data integration scripts and ETL utilities to transform and validate data formats (XML, XSLT, XSD) across disparate systems.
* Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and system performance issues, maintaining thorough technical documentation and root-cause analyses.
* Configure, maintain, and query relational database management systems, including PostgreSQL, Oracle, PL/SQL, T-SQL, and SQLite.
* Recommend and implement standardization across system administration and data integration processes, ensuring compliance with data quality standards and domain specifications.
* Maintain, deploy, and monitor infrastructure within secure, FedRAMP-compliant cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and on-premises datacenters.
* Performs other duties as assigned. Security Clearance Requirements: Active security clearance required on application: Must hold an active Secret clearance at time of application. Experience Requirements: Minimum 5+ years of practical experience in senior systems administration across multi-platform environments (Windows, Linux, Unix). Proven experience developing and troubleshooting utilities or scripts using languages such as Python, Java, C#, PHP, or JavaScript. Demonstrated experience with web server management (Tomcat, Apache), security certificates (JKS, SSL/TLS), and secure file transfer protocols (SFTP). Practical experience configuring and maintaining databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server) and working within cloud environments (AWS, Azure). Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience). Desired Skills / Qualifications: * Direct familiarity with law enforcement data standards, IEPD specifications, and inter-agency information-sharing frameworks.
* Advanced experience with FedRAMP- or FISMA-compliant Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure Cloud architectures.
