Job description

Role and Responsibilities:
Full Time position supporting the TESS Task Order filling the Network System Administrator position
as a Software Engineer with some limited travel. Duties include dedicated support for software
development of new functionalities, system updates, debugging, user support, and developing
technical documentation. The position is located onsite at NSWC PHD in Port Hueneme, CA.
Position Duties:
• Either Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or other technical degree and minimum
of 4 years' experience or no degree with a minimum of 10 years network administrator experience
supporting Windows and Linux systems.
• CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
• Provide support for the procurement, operation, and maintenance of network hardware.
• Proficiency in administering server environments, particularly Windows Server, Linux RedHat, and
Unix.
• Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals/Administrator or Linux Professional Institute (LPI)
credentials for platform-specific capabilities.
• Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff and collaborate with other
technical personnel.
• Strong organizational skills to carefully document network configurations, hardware inventories,
and troubleshooting logs.
• Must meet USN cyber workforce requirements.
• Must maintain documentation integrity for classified, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI),
and unclassified materials.
• Must have strong knowledge of advanced features of MS Word & MS Office Products and strong
technical writing skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license with own transportation and able to support limited travel
(0-5%).
• Must be able to satisfactorily complete background check and get a government clearance.
• Must be able to follow company policies and procedures.
• Must be able to write, speak and understand English and able to write clear, detailed technical
monthly reports.
Preferred Skills:
• Hands-on experience (2-5 years) in IT support, help desk roles, or junior administrative roles.
• Experience or knowledge of C++ templates
Mandatory Physical Requirements:
• Must be capable of working aboard US Navy ships pier side and at-sea.
