Job description

Linux/SCADA Administrator - Engineering Tech III (LINUX)

Location: Los Angeles CA Duration: 6+ months contract. MoI: F2F

This position provides day to day SCADA operations support requiring diagnostic knowledge and experience to troubleshoot SCADA software / hardware and process control applications within specialized areas of SCADA including client/server applications, system administration, security controls, Oracle and other database systems, and server hardware and software.

This position requires competence and demonstrates the ability to investigate, analyze and resolve SCADA server & desktop application and operating system problems; including hands-on experience in server management and best practices. This position will also work closely with IT and project management teams, and SCADA network/security team members to maintain a secure and properly working SCADA network.

Special Requirements:

Strong knowledge of Linux; Ability to set up and maintain infrastructure automation and management tools, satellite servers, and familiarity with SolarWinds and Sophos or other similar applications; Develop and maintain images and configure an operating-system deployment strategy using Linux management tools; Perform the administration and management of Linux based SCADA Infrastructure; Maintain software updates on Linux based controllers; Familiarity working with virtual environments.

Experience Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or general education development test (GED), and two years of accredited college or university in engineering and six years of relevant experience, two years of which must have been at the Engineering Technician II level.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux
  • Ability to set up and maintain infrastructure automation and management tools, satellite servers, and familiarity with SolarWinds and Sophos or other similar applications
  • Develop and maintain images, and configure an operating-system deployment strategy using Linux management tools
  • Perform the administration and management of Linux based SCADA Infrastructure
  • Maintain software updates on Linux based controllers
  • Familiarity working with virtual environments
