Role: R&D Linux Engineer
Location: San Diego, CA or San Jose, CA
Duration: 6+ Months
BGV will be done for the selected candidates.
Responsibilities
Install and configure systems which support Red hat Linux infrastructure and/or R&D activities.
Red hat Linux workstation administration including installation, configuration and support.
Troubleshooting issues related to virtual desktops.
Should able to understand NFS, NIS and Nis+ environments.
Incident, change and problem management - LSF & VDI
Proactive monitoring of LSF & VDI environment
Rehosting systems across different LSF queues
LSF queue management
User management - increasing LSF slots, prioritizing LSF capabilities
Resolve issues in design environment which involves LSF & EoD applications.
Creating VDI stations as per catalog requests
Resolving user EoD issues
Monitoring runaway jobs and taking appropriate action
Resolving client EoD client issues on windows workstations
Working knowledge of VMware
Working knowledge in LSF multi cluster site environment to resolve issues
Participate with infra provider service teams to setup new systems in LSF & VDI
Participate in maintenance activities (planned and unplanned)
Participate in problem calls
Monitor all R&D sites end2end systems and take appropriate action
Work with designers to resolve IT issues
Ticket management
