Job description

Job Summary:
Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and integrating complex systems, participating in technical research and development to enable innovation while ensuring accessibility, optimization, and security within the infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
• Install and configure operating systems, software, and hardware components, and clearly document the design, maintenance, and support procedures for routine tasks to leverage IT support staff
• Use expert-level configuration, administration and optimization of hosts and servers to ensure high availability of infrastructure and systems
• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system engineering tasks
Qualifications:
Required:
• Four (4) years of system engineering experience
• This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Security Clearance Post-Start is required
• Linux and Windows architect experience
• Virtualization expertise experience specifically with vSphere
• CompTIA Security+ Certificate
Preferred:
• Azure and Office 365 Tenant administration
• Storage Services and Platforms (e.g. Dell PowerStore, PowerVault)
• Bachelor’s degree from an accepted and accredited college or university with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science or equivalent work experience
• Operating system administration (e.g. RHEL, Windows Server)
• Configuration and administration of endpoint solutions (e.g. SCCM, Intune, SolarWinds, ServiceNow)
• Azure/O365 Online App experience (e.g SharePoint, PowerBi, PowerAutomate)
• Domain management expertise (e.g. AD, SSO, PKI, GPO, DHCP)
• Automation and Scripting experience (e.g Powershell, Python, Ansible)
• Containerization experience (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes)
• Linux Foundation Certified System Administrator
• Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate
• VMware Certified Professional or VMware Certified Advanced Professional
