THIS IS A FEDERAL CONTRACT - U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED
100% ONSITE - HOUSTON, TX
IMPORTANT: THIS IS A 6-MONTH SURGE SUPPORT ROLE (POTENTIAL EXTENSION) DESCRIPTION OF POSITION / DUTIES: All Points is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator / Computer Networking Engineer to support the Boeing CST-100 program in Houston, Texas. This role is structured as a 6-month surge support assignment to meet immediate program needs, with potential for extension based on contract requirements and performance. This is a hands-on role supporting lab and development environments and requires strong technical experience across Linux systems, networking, and infrastructure support.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining system functionality, supporting lab infrastructure, and ensuring the stability, security, and performance of systems across Linux and networked environments. This is a Federal Contract. US Citizenship is required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * Provide Linux systems administration support (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) within lab and development environments. * Manage user accounts and identity services, including IPA Server. * Perform system maintenance including patching, backups, file services (NFS and Samba), and system updates. * Support lab operations, including server hardware, rack systems, cabling, and overall infrastructure maintenance. * Configure and maintain network devices, including switches, routers, and wireless access points (WAPs). * Troubleshoot system, network, and hardware issues in a hands-on lab environment. * Maintain system documentation and support operational procedures. * Ensure system integrity, availability, and security across environments. * Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to support system development and testing. EDUCATION: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required. EXPERIENCE: * Minimum 10 years of relevant systems administration and/or infrastructure experience in enterprise, lab, or similar environments (or equivalent hands-on experience supporting similar systems). SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS: * Experience administering Linux systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu). * Experience with user management, backups, file systems, and system maintenance. * Experience supporting lab environments, including hardware, servers, and cabling.
Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and wireless networking. * Experience maintaining system functionality, performance, and security. * Familiarity with virtualization technologies, including Docker, QEMU, and virtual machines. * Experience supporting Windows and Windows domain environments is preferred.
Exposure to AWS environments is a plus. * Experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git is desirable. * Familiarity working with multiple system architectures (x86, ARM, PPC) is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work independently in a hands-on technical environment. SECURITY REQUIREMENTS: * U.S. Citizenship is required.
