Job Title: System Administrator (Linux)
Location: Huntsville, AL
Description:
Crossflow Technologies is seeking applicants for an experienced Systems Administrator providing direct-user support in both Linux and Windows environments. The selected applicant will provide full systems administration and user support to local and remote users performing business administration and advanced software development environments. The selected candidate will manage users, groups and accounts; administer the company domain, apply updates, patches, STIGs and security controls; troubleshoot and repair software and hardware problems; and work with a ticketing system. They will work with employees to develop technical solutions, and engage in technical solutions to interesting technology problems.
Position Requirements:
  • Minimum 5-8 years Systems Administration experience.
  • The candidate must be able to install, troubleshoot, repair, operate, and maintain computers and network equipment
  • Experience with Gitlab
  • Must have the ability to build Linux systems, both physical and virtual
  • Must have experience with RHEL System Administration
  • Maintain operation of Linux computer systems, including coordination with other system and network administration staff and program teams
  • Supports networks and Cisco IOS and devices. Ability to configure networking and troubleshoot network issues via Cisco command line
  • Perform network and firewall engineering, monitoring, and administration functions as required. Provide initial analysis and troubleshooting on issues identified with network monitoring tools and provide troubleshooting support to end users on the network as well as other general networking tasks.
  • Conduct day-to-day system administration of the hardware and software for a modeling and simulation (M&S) system
  • Provide hands-on system administration support, system maintenance and operations support
  • Supports building, configuring, and troubleshooting software and hardware enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure up-grades
  • Supports diagnosis and corrects computer, server, and network system issues
  • Provides continuous status information to ensure lab specifications
  • Responds to technical issues as they arise
  • Ensure consistent technical direction and understanding between government and contractor staff
  • Assist in conduct of top-level IT architecture trades and development
  • Ensure consistent architectural IT application across the M&S products
  • Ensure consistent IT processes, practices, and documentation across the M&S system
  • Operations support: Five days a week, providing daily support for development and operation assets and willing to travel
  • Perform other IT duties as assigned
  • Data collection, documentation, and reporting on all the above responsibilities as required. Perform other IT duties as assigned to realize mission success.

Desirable Skills:
  • Experience working with VMWare ESXi virtualized environments.
  • Knowledge of RHEL 8.
  • Scripting with bash, python, etc.
  • Experience with Ansible, HBSS, RSA server/client, and various techniques for both development and operation environments
  • Experience with networks and Cisco IOS and devices
  • Previous experience with the Missile Defense Agency, Missile Defense System, elements, or components

Education and Certification Requirements:
  • Must have at least one Linux certification e.g. Linux+, LPIC, Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA), Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE)
  • Candidates must comply with the experience, training, and certification requirements for DoD 8570 IAT level II employment (e.g., Security+ CE or higher)
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited university

Travel: Less than 10%

CROSSFLOW KUDOS SPOT BONUS PROGRAM
We created a unique performance bonus program called Crossflow Kudos. HIGHER EDUCATION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

GENEROUS PTO ACCRUAL & FLEXIBLE LEAVE POLICY
Crossflow currently grants 11 federally observed paid holidays. In addition to these holidays, Crossflow offers a minimum of 2 weeks of paid time off (PTO) to all full-time employees. Employees may utilize PTO for any reason (sickness, vacation, personal day, etc.) and can carry over a maximum of 120 hours from year to year. Many employees are authorized to work additional hours within a normal, forty-hour pay period. This approval is included in the employee's offer letter for employment. These extra hours may be banked for compensatory (comp) time off.
