Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace. 

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to lead the design, management, and optimization of our Windows-based systems and AWS cloud infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Windows environments, cloud technologies, and cybersecurity, with a proven ability to architect and support secure, scalable enterprise systems. This role provides an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, contributing to the high availability, performance, and security of our IT operations.

Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and support the application with the customer enterprise.
  • Perform installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, and lifecycle management of Windows and Linux servers.
  • Monitor system health, performance, and availability using enterprise monitoring tools.
  • Troubleshoot complex hardware, software, operating system, and application issues.
  • Support deployment activities across development, test, staging, and production environments.
  • Coordinate scheduled maintenance windows and execute system upgrades with minimal operational impact.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python to improve operational efficiency.
  • Perform backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations.
  • Support accreditation activities and ensure compliance with customer, DoD, RMF, DISA STIG, and security requirements.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and Active Directory integrations.
  • Collaborate with security teams to remediate vulnerabilities and maintain compliance.
  • Support incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action implementation.
  • Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide after-hour support when required.
  • Interface directly with customers to address operational tasking and mission requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, OR related field, and 8+ years of prior relevant experience OR
  • Master's with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • 8+ years of enterprise systems administration experience.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical DoD or Intelligence Community environments.
  • Strong administration experience with:
    • Microsoft Windows Server
    • VMware vSphere
    • DNS/DHCP
    • Group Policy
  • Experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Must have a Security+ CE or higher DoD 8570/8140 certification
  • Experience supporting customer mission systems.
  • Experience supporting GEOINT applications.
  • Experience with:
    • VMware vCenter
    • Git
    • ServiceNow
  • Active TS/SCI clearance required
  • Successfully pass background and drug screening

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals

  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
  • Knowledge of RMF security controls and vulnerability remediation
