Job description

About the Role

Wing Assistant is looking for a driven, detail-oriented Junior Link Building & Affiliate Specialist to strengthen our off-page SEO footprint and grow our affiliate program.
This is a hands-on outreach role focused on earning high-quality backlinks and citations from relevant, authoritative sources, and on recruiting and supporting affiliate partners who promote Wing Assistant.

You will spend most of your time identifying link and citation opportunities, running personalized outreach campaigns, and building relationships with publishers, bloggers, directories, review sites, and affiliate partners.
It's an ideal role for someone early in their SEO or digital marketing career who wants to specialize in off-page SEO, digital PR, and affiliate marketing within a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities
Link Building & Citations
  • Research and build prospect lists of relevant, authoritative websites, blogs, directories, review platforms, and industry publications for backlink and citation opportunities.

  • Execute personalized outreach (email and social) to secure backlinks, guest posts, citations, unlinked-mention conversions, and business/directory listings.

  • Manage all important citation sources (business directories, industry listings, review sites, aggregators) to ensure consistent and accurate NAP (Name, Address, Phone) and brand information.

  • Identify guest posting, resource page, broken-link, and digital PR opportunities that align with Wing Assistant's audience and content.

  • Track outreach status, follow-ups, response rates, and won links in a CRM or tracking sheet.

Affiliate Program Support
  • Contribute to affiliate link-building efforts by identifying, recruiting, and onboarding potential affiliate partners (bloggers, review sites, comparison sites, influencers).

  • Support day-to-day management of the affiliate program, including partner communication, sharing assets and links, and answering partner questions.

  • Monitor affiliate placements and links for accuracy, proper attribution, and compliance with brand and program guidelines.

  • Help maintain relationships with existing affiliates to encourage ongoing promotion and content updates.

Reporting & Collaboration
  • Track and report on outreach volume, links and citations acquired, affiliate signups, and overall link/domain metrics.

  • Work closely with the content team to align outreach targets with published content and campaign priorities.

  • Report progress and results to the Content Team Lead and VP of Marketing.

  • Stay current on SEO best practices, Google guidelines, and link-building trends to keep tactics effective and compliant.

Requirements
  • Basic understanding of SEO fundamentals, including the role of backlinks, citations, domain authority, and anchor text.

  • Working knowledge of link-building tactics (guest posting, directory/citation building, digital PR, broken-link building, outreach).

  • Strong written English and personalized, professional outreach/email communication skills.

  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple outreach campaigns and follow-ups simultaneously.

  • Comfortable with spreadsheets and prospecting/tracking tools; a self-starter who is persistent and target-driven.

  • Familiarity with SEO tools (e.g., Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz) and/or affiliate platforms is a strong plus.

  • Prior experience in outreach, SEO, affiliate marketing, sales development, or digital PR is a plus but not required.

Nice To Have
  • Experience with affiliate networks or affiliate management platforms (e.g., PartnerStack, Impact, Rewardful, FirstPromoter).

  • Experience using outreach tools (e.g., Hunter, Pitchbox, BuzzStream, Mailshake).

  • Basic understanding of content marketing and how content supports link acquisition.

What Success Looks Like (First 90 Days)
  • Built a repeatable outreach process with active prospect lists and templates.

  • Secured an initial pipeline of quality backlinks and completed citation/directory listings.

  • Recruited and onboarded the first batch of new affiliate partners.

  • Established clear weekly reporting on outreach and affiliate activity.

$800 - $2,000 a month

  • Monthly salary: $800-$2000 USD
