JOB DUTIES
  • Maintains required records, reports and statistics as directed. Keeps log of completed work and disposition of unusable materials. Keeps records of linen distribution by department. Keeps daily log of soiled linen pounds sent to laundry and cleans linen pounds received from laundry.
  • Receives and collects soiled linen. Sorts laundry according to type, condition and weight, and records weight.
  • Plans, organizes and coordinates functions and activities of linen department to supply clean, sanitary and quality linens to all departments ensuring quality patient care. Checks floor linen supplies and lists linen usage by department. Counts and stocks linens for distribution or places them in supply storage. Reports linen supply shortages to supervisor. Delivers linens to user departments according to preestablished par levels and schedules. Distributes emergency supplies as needed.
  • Folds, sorts and stacks both large and small articles. Examines articles for stains, tears, or other imperfections. Takes supply requests and delivers them.
  • Assists in care and maintenance of department facilities, equipment and supplies. Performs cleaning duties. Establishes and maintains safety, environmental and infection control policies and procedures. Keeps linen room neat and orderly. Cleans delivery equipment and assists with other cleaning duties in laundry and linen department. Assists with other Environmental Services deparment schedules and responsibilities as required.
  • Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality improvement program, environmental and infection control standards. Completes and maintains job performance requirements and standards as established in Career Ladder Program. Maintains standards as required in Disciplinary Action Section of Career Ladder Program. Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings. Attends meetings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
