MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Linux Engineer to support our current NCIS contract out of Quantico, VA.


Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • The Linux Engineer will maintain, update, and secure existing Linux systems on both classified and unclassified networks in support of Cyber investigations and operations.

  • Candidates will be responsible for optimizing, maintaining, and securing Linux systems to ensure optimum performance with minimal downtime. 

  • Candidates may also be asked for creative contributions to improve existing processes and for surge support for various initiatives in areas related to their area of expertise

  • Travel may be required to support operations.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree and minimum of 4 years of experience working with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.X, 8.X, 9.X with a strong command-line interface (CLI) skillset (additional 2 years of experience may be substituted in lieu of degree).

  • Experience securing Linux systems with DISA STIG requirements.

  • Experience with Red Hat based tools such as Ansible and Red Hat Satellite.

  • Familiarity with at least one common scripting language such as Python, Perl, bash, etc

  • Experience with virtualization tools (Vmware, KVM, Proxmox)

Preferred Requirements: 

  • Experience with monitoring solutions such as Icinga2 or Nagios Experience and / or willingness to learn DevOps and Automation.

  • Familiarity with the DIACAP and/or RMF accreditation processes, specifically with configuring Linux systems in compliance with the Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs).

  • Experience with maintaining a secure, standard OS build process.

  • Experience installing and managing PostgreSQL.

Security Clearance Required:

  • Must have a current/active Top Secret / SCI.

The projected compensation range for this position is $107,900.00-$179,400.00. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.  In addition, MANTECH invests in its employees beyond just compensation.  MANTECH's benefits offerings include, dependent upon position, Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, Holiday Pay, short-term and long-term Disability, Retirement and Savings, Learning and Development opportunities, wellness programs as well as other optional benefit elections.
