Job Description


AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Senior Leader for our Canada Water business line.  The Water Regional Business Line Leader (RBLL) is responsible for the performance of the Water business overall with an emphasis on client service, growth and profitability.  This position can be located anywhere in Canada where we have an office.
As a compelling business leader and selfless collaborator with both P&L and sales growth responsibility, the RBLL sets safety and ethical standards, leads by example, drives employee engagement and the professional development of the staff. They work cooperatively with other regions and business lines around the globe to integrate delivery of all AECOM’s services.  
The RBLL provides industry leadership and develops and executes a growth strategy in coordination with AECOM Executive Leadership.  They oversee development of capture strategies, direct pursuits of profitable business and ensure safe, high quality, profitable project delivery. They will also represent the company in industry, municipal, provincial, and federal group forums.    
They report in a matrix to the Regional and Global Business Line Executives and work in close partnership with the Director of Operations, Market Sector and Account Leaders. The RBLL is a member of the Canada Region and Global Business Line Management Teams and supports the overall performance of both.

  • Provides strategic direction and leadership to the Canada Region Water team.
  • Advances the strategic direction of the Region and positions the business line for sustained and continued profitable growth, consistent with the context of the strategic plan.
  • Provides leadership for the Region by communicating the strategy and objectives of the organization and Region to the Water business line.
  • Accountable for the Water business line’s P&L, including revenue generation, project margin achievement, cash targets, G&A, project delivery, client satisfaction, staff utilization, technical talent and team resources (hiring, staff retention, etc.), safety, claims resolution, and quality.
  • Participates in the development of Regional growth and business development strategy in collaboration with other Regional business line leaders and Client Account Managers.
  • Implements strategic plans and objectives of the organization as applicable to the Region.
  • Ensures the success and growth of the Region through collaboration with the Global Water business line and other Regions and business lines.
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature judgment.
  • Serves as an ambassador for AECOM.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • 15+ years of related experience in the A/E/C industry, with extensive Water infrastructure leadership experience or an equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
  • 8+ years of experience in business development, operations management, and staff management, including P&L.
  • Outstanding communication skills, including experience speaking to large groups.
  • Consultative, service-oriented mindset and strong collaborative problem-solving skills.
  • Experience growing a regional business and collaborating with other regions.

 

      Qualifications

      Minimum Requirements:

      • BA/BS + extensive relevant experience, including 6 years of leadership experience

      Preferred Qualifications

      • Advanced business degree.
      • 20+ years of related experience. 
      • 10+ years in the geographic marketplace. 
      • Extensive experience in driving growth, developing strategy, generating sales, and building high performance teams. 
      • Significant experience and client relationships in the market sector areas associated with our Water practice (water treatment, water resources, storm water management, etc.).
      • Bilingual (French and English).
