Job description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a PA or compact RN license and 2 years of telemetry experience.
Job Details
• Med/Surg Tele unit setting on night shift (3x12, 19:00-07:00),
• Patient ratio of 1:4-5,
• Floating required between two units based on unit needs,
• Every other weekend required,
• No block scheduling,
• No on-call responsibilities,
• Uses Epic charting system,
• Holiday coverage required for 1 summer and 1 winter holiday,
Job Requirements
• Active PA or compact RN license required,
• BLS certification required,
• 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required,
• Telemetry monitoring experience required,
• Epic charting experience required,
• BSN preferred, ASN accepted,
• Teaching hospital experience preferred,
• Skills needed include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, PICC line management, and blood product administration,
• Respiratory care skills including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilator care, high flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, and oxygen administration,
• Cardiac monitoring skills including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of rapid response/code teams,
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, IV insulin protocols, and insulin drip titration,
• Experience with pacemaker management, post-MI care, and pre/post cardiac catheterization care,
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration,
• Valid references and copies of certifications required,
Additional Information
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to medical-surgical and cardiac telemetry patients,
• Navy blue scrubs required,
• PA fingerprints and Childline clearance required, which may involve travel over 100 miles and processing time of up to 2-4 weeks,
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing,
• A pass/fail clinical exam is required, with a maximum of 3 attempts allowed,
• RTO must be finalized prior to consideration and cannot be adjusted afterward,
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,
• Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius may be considered at a local rate
