Job description

Basic purpose or function: The primary focus of the Prep Cook is to ensure all menu items are prepared consistently, and sufficient stock levels of each item are maintained.

Job Duties:

  • Always maintain proper sanitary practices such as proper handwashing, proper use of single use gloves, and storage of food products.
  • Reports to supervisor for daily prep requirements.
  • Daily assignments may also include working other assignments within the kitchen.
  • Prepare and maintain equipment following business demand, quality, and proper sanitation practices. Report any malfunction to the supervisor.
  • Open, maintain, and close work area appropriately.
  • Prepare food items as directed by supervisor and use appropriate recipes.
  • Demonstrate effective teamwork.
  • Operate dish machine following sanitary standards.
  • Complete any other duties as directed.
  • Maintain effective communication with supervisors.
  • Report any concerns and complete any written documentation if asked to do so.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
