Lin is an online, coach-anchored service offering evidence-based behavioral and cognitive approaches for tackling chronic pain. Our mission is to address the pressing need for accessible, affordable, and effective support for the millions of Americans suffering from chronic pain. Who we are looking for

We are looking for health and wellness coaches to join our team. A focus in chronic pain recovery is preferred; however, all Lin coaches receive educational pain neuroscience training as well as practical coaching training.

As a stellar Lin pain recovery coach:

  • You exude confidence, empathy, and knowledge when interacting with clients— and when it comes to people’s health and how their bodies feel, you are especially understanding and helpful.
  • You’re excited to work at a quickly growing startup! This means you’re unafraid of ambiguity and are excited by rapid change and learning.
  • You’re committed to continually deepening your knowledge of pain recovery science and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Provide coaching for chronic pain recovery via the Lin Care Platform, chat, phone, and video calls
  • Guide members through the Lin core program
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for Lin members
  • Attend weekly coaching pod meetings
  • Coordinate clinical services if necessary
  • Employ a biopsychosocial approach to chronic pain treatment
  • Support members via video sessions and asynchronous chat
  • You will report to one of our Lead Coaches and work one-on-one with members as well as in a multidisciplinary team environment.

Eligibility requirements

  • US residence
  • US citizenship or other US work permit that does not require sponsorship
  • At least one of the following:
    • Certification in a neuroplastic pain recovery treatment
      • Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) Certification Training
      • Emotional Awareness and Expression Therapy (EAET) Certification/Training
      • Pain Coach Academy Certification
      • Beyond Pain Certification
      • Beyond Pain Education Training (Charlie Merrill)
      • OVID Dx Training (Howard Schubiner)
      • Freedom From Chronic Pain Course (Howard Schubiner)
    • Certification as a health coach
      • International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited program
      • National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) approved program
      • Other ICF/NBHWC–approved health coach training
    • Relevant medical or mental health license
      • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
      • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

Schedule & Format

We offer a flexible schedule and the ability to work remotely. This is a part-time, contractor (1099) position. Lin coaches are expected to work approximately 12.5 hours per week with the option to go above that if you demonstrate high-quality care.

Compensation

Lin coaches earn $30-35/hour commensurate with relevant experience. As our organization evolves, we prioritize our current coaches when new or expanded roles become available. These opportunities may offer adjusted compensation, based on the scope and nature of the responsibilities involved.

Application and Hiring Process

1. Create a Lin account and submit a job application

2. Complete Lin’s free, self-study training course, The Foundations of Pain Recovery Coaching, inside the Lin app. Applicants generally complete the course within 3 to 4 weeks, spending approximately 25 hours in total. The course includes short assessments, reflection exercises, and sample coaching calls to help you practice key skills in real‐world scenarios.

3. The Lin team will review your application and reflections. If it seems like you may be a good fit for Lin, you’ll be invited to schedule an interview.

4. If you are hired post-interview, you will be paid to complete the second part of coach training, which is job-specific. Job-specific training generally takes 3 weeks to complete, spending 15-20 hours.
