Overview
Riverton Hospital is seeking a part-time Limited Scope Radiologic Technologist to support imaging services. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented technologist who is committed to delivering high-quality patient care, ensuring safety, and collaborating effectively with the care team.
Essential Functions
Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares patients for examinations
Demonstrates sensitivity to patient needs throughout procedures
Clearly explains procedures to patients and families to promote cooperation and reduce anxiety
Addresses patient questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner
Performs radiologic exams that produce high-quality images while maintaining patient and staff safety
Follows established protocols, ensures proper patient positioning, and utilizes equipment effectively
Adheres to radiation safety standards and guidelines
Recognizes emergent patient situations and responds quickly and appropriately
Completes all required documentation accurately, including time stamps and image storage
Coordinates patient care and communicates relevant information to other care team members
Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment
Ensures supplies and equipment are properly maintained and stored
Participates in ongoing education and professional development, including new procedures and equipment

Minimum Qualifications
Current licensure as a Practical Radiologic Technologist / Limited Scope Operator in the state of practice OR
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Board Registry Eligible per state requirements
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare provider
Required Competency (minimum one area): Chest, Extremities, Spine, Skull, Podiatry, Bone Densitometry (DEXA)

Physical Requirements
- Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.
- Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.
- Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.
- Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.
- Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)
- May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.
