Occupational Health Nurse: Make Lives Better Every Day!
As an Occupational Health Nurse at BHS, you'll play a pivotal role in assisting with the management of the occupational health program for our host organization. You'll provide clinical services, health assessments, and case management, contributing to our mission of helping individuals enjoy better and longer lives.
What You'll Do:
Grow your career while supporting cutting-edge science-join us in delivering Occupational Health Services at Eli Lilly's new campus in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin.
Clinical Care:

  • Conduct nursing assessments and interventions within the scope of practice.
  • Evaluate employees with work-related injuries and illnesses for fitness for duty.
  • Provide first aid and triage for on-site employees and contractors.
  • Offer return-to-work clearances for employees.
  • Perform required screenings and manage credentialing programs.
  • Provide pre-employment and annual physicals.
  • Deliver educational offerings to employees.
  • Collaborate with the client's staff.
  • Lead or participate in special projects assigned by client leadership.
Medical Surveillance:
  • Conduct and manage required surveillance examinations.
  • Provide medical surveillance support for client employees.
  • Perform health assessments, including physical assessments and selected tests.
  • Communicate determinations of employee fitness for work to management.
Medical Emergency Response:
  • Provide first-line injury and illness care for work-related conditions.
  • Offer emergency medical response as required.
  • Interface with local hospitals and emergency medical providers to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Case Management:
  • Provide personal and work-related injury case management following client policies and guidelines.
  • Offer medical advice/input to site leadership on work-relatedness of injuries/illnesses.
  • Organize independent medical examinations as appropriate and in coordination with the client.
Health Promotion Program:
  • Promote and support client wellness programs.
Medical Record and Administrative Tasks:
  • Ensure adequate clinical documentation of services provided.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as faxing, scanning, copying, clinic scheduling, medical waste management, and more.
What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
  • Current RN license in the state of Wisconsin.
  • BLS Certification required.
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing or equivalent desirable.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing is desirable.
  • 3-5 years of nursing experience; 2-5 years of occupational health nursing preferred.
Competencies Required:
  • Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, toxicology, health promotion, lifestyle risk factors, and ergonomics.
  • Certification in Hearing Conservation and Spirometry is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of laws, standards, and safety regulations in occupational health (OSHA, FMLA, Workers Compensation).
  • Familiarity with epidemiology, safety, industrial hygiene, wellness, and behavioral change theory.
  • Emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and motivation.

Schedule:
Full Time - Evening Monday-Friday 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM / Full Time - Night Monday-Friday 10:30 PM - 7:00 AM
Weekend Shifts - 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
