Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to oversee commercial electrical and lighting projects from project award through final closeout. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, client relationships, and overall project execution while ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in commercial lighting, electrical construction, electrical distribution, or manufacturer's representative environments and excels at coordinating contractors, architects, engineers, manufacturers, and internal teams throughout every phase of a project.

Responsibilities
  • Manage commercial electrical and lighting projects from project award through final completion and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, cost forecasts, and execution strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for owners, electrical contractors, architects, engineers, lighting designers, manufacturers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Review project plans, specifications, lighting packages, contracts, and construction documents to ensure successful execution.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, equipment releases, procurement activities, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate manufacturing schedules, material deliveries, and supplier performance to maintain project timelines.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, billing, and profitability.
  • Identify project risks and implement solutions to minimize schedule delays, procurement issues, and budget impacts.
  • Support product selection, value engineering, and technical coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and company leadership.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining exceptional customer service and communication.
  • Oversee project turnover, final documentation, and closeout activities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of project management experience in commercial lighting, commercial electrical, electrical distribution, or commercial construction.
  • Proven experience managing projects from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Strong understanding of commercial construction documents, electrical plans, specifications, procurement, scheduling, and project coordination.
  • Experience working with electrical contractors, consulting engineers, architects, lighting designers, manufacturers, or manufacturer's representatives.
  • Experience managing project budgets, forecasting, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and procurement activities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management or ERP software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex commercial projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commercial construction experience is required. Residential-only experience will not be considered.
