Job description

Farnsworth Group is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer - Healthcare in one of the posting locations below. In this role, you will assume multi-project responsibilities for lighting, lighting controls, power distribution, branch circuiting, and systems engineering and design for various facilities. This role is one that can be entrepreneurial and grow into more responsibility via mentoring from more experienced engineers and is supported by a great team of engineers and drafters. This role reports to a senior engineering manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities to help you grow.
Posting Locations for this role: Colorado Springs or Greenwood Village, CO (Denver Tech Center)
What You'll Do:
  • Assume multi-project responsibilities for full Electrical design, including Power distribution, Lighting, and Telecommunications for the healthcare market
  • Candidate will actively engage in and assume responsibility for:
    • Code research and application
    • Fieldwork to ascertain existing conditions.
    • Preliminary schematics through final designs
    • Calculations
    • Equipment specification, sizing, and layout
    • Coordination with other production staff
    • Preparation of accurate Electrical system construction drawings and specifications
    • Submittal review and construction administration.
    • Project management for Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing disciplines
  • Candidate will interface with other disciplines, clients, and contractors and maintain project design budgets and schedules while pursuing quality.
  • This role includes responsibility for mentoring engineers, designers, and drafters.
  • This role reports to a technical manager, who will also provide mentoring and training opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
What You'll Need:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
  • Typically, 6-10 years of professional experience in electrical design
  • PE preferred but not required
  • Design experience to include some Healthcare experience (medium/large commercial, healthcare and institutional facilities)
  • Familiarity with Revit, AutoCAD, BlueBeam and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong team player in a multi-disciplinary environment
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to contribute to several projects simultaneously
