Job description

The primary responsibility of the AV/Lighting Technician is to assist with set up and operate all audio-visual and lighting equipment in the auditorium. They will assist in maintaining the audio-visual inventory, as well as assist in the training and supervision of tech team members. They will support events with their audio-visual requirements. This position will work in conjunction with the Building Manager to provide additional support for events.

Required Qualifications

EVENT PRODUCTION

  • Serve as on-site liaison for group AV/lighting needs for Student Union events
  • Create lighting scripts based on client needs and requirements
  • Operate AV/lighting equipment for technical rehearsals and performances

AUDIO/VISUAL SETUP

  • Assist with student organizations, departments, and external groups on AV and lighting needs for auditorium events

ASSET MANAGEMENT

  • Perform/Arrange maintenance and operation of all sound systems, video equipment, lighting systems and related equipment
  • Assist Building Manager as needed with installs, alters, repairs and maintenance of equipment
  • Stay current of new technology concerning the auditorium
  • Make recommendations to Assistant Director on upgrades and new purchases of equipment
