Crew member/Laborer
Crew members are primarily responsible for working with a crew to install erosion and sediment controls (e.g. silt fence, inlet protection) that are commonly used as Best Management Practices (BMPs) at construction sites.
Requirements:
Estimate time required for work orders and monitor the time taken to complete jobs.
install, maintain, and repair sediment and erosion control measures (silt fence, inlet protection, turbidity barriers) at construction sites
Operate hand tools, power tools, and light construction equipment
Safely and efficiently drive and operate a company vehicle and trailer.
Other duties as assigned.
Work Environment and Travel:
Travel to construction sites throughout the Freeport area and work in the field using a shovel, sledgehammer, power tools, and light construction equipment.
This position requires working outdoors with prolonged exposure to the sun.
Crew members work a standard work week, Monday- Friday mostly in the field; and may be required to work extended hours and weekends, as needed.
On occasion, the Crew members may travel to other regions in Alabama/Florida to support SpreadRites growth in new regions.
Physical Requirements:
To complete the field duties associated with this position, the Crew member must be able to:
wear standard PPE (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, work boots);
work outdoors in the sun;
walk, at times, long distances over a variety of terrain.
work in various positions, including but not limited to walking, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods; and be able to lift to 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout an assigned workday
Minimum Qualifications
Some experience with construction phases, landscaping, or similar field experience.
Willing to learn new skills (operate trencher, ride-on blower, skid steer, other equipment)
Work independently and as a team member
Good attendance and driving record
Preferred Qualifications
Experience, installing/repairing silt fences, inlet protection, and other common BMPs used at construction sites.
