About the role
The Spa Assistant Manager assists in providing the leadership and management of the Spa Department. The Spa Assistant Manager assists with key strategic and operational decisions for the Spa with regard to treatments and philosophies. The Spa Assistant Manager oversees staff including Therapists, Estheticians, Attendants, and Receptionists.
What you will do
  • Manage and oversee all Spa/Salon areas (Front Desk, Fitness Facilities, Locker Room, Relaxation Lounge, Treatment Rooms and Retail).
  • Interview and select job applicants as well as effectively supervise, discipline, and give performance evaluations for spa employees. Foster positive employee morale.
  • Responsible for the administration of goods, requisitions, inventories, storage, and cost-effective usage of all department related products, according to standards and budget to ensure for smooth operation.
  • Oversee the operation of equipment and cleanliness in all spa areas and coordinate special requirements with Housekeeping, Laundry, and Engineering.
  • Effectively integrate the Spa with the Hotel operations wherever possible and in accordance with the direction of Spa trends.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings to keep employees informed of hotel policies and changes, as well as ways to increase sales and service.
  • Create retail purchase orders in accordance with pars and budget. Organize and facilitate monthly and quarterly retail inventory.
  • Coordinate group bookings and conduct on-site tours of the Spa with key meeting planners.
  • Assist all Spa and Salon departments with internal standards testing.

What you bring
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
  • Demonstrates superior knowledge of spa, wellness and treatments.
  • The ability to operate Spa computer systems.
  • Knowledge of treatments that are offered by Massage Therapists, Estheticians and Nail Techs.
  • Strong communication skills between customers, vendors, employees and co-workers.
  • College degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in luxury Spa or related field.
  • Previous experience with Spa retail preferred
