Shift:  Monday-Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM

Gain hands-on experience providing mental health services under the guidance of a qualified supervisor.  You’ll apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings, engage in clinical and non-clinical activities, and build the skills needed for a rewarding career in behavioral health.

  • The student intern works under the direct supervision of the Organization’s Qualified Site Supervisor. 
  • All services provided by the intern will be reviewed by the Supervisor including written work (i.e. assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes) and interactions with clients. 
  • The student intern will engage in a variety of clinical and non-clinical activities related to their specific discipline and consistent with their individual learning contract.
  • Carries case list made up of mostly individual therapy clients, with opportunities to work with couples/families/groups as interested
  • Will receive clinical supervision from an appropriate independently licensed staff member weekly per requirements

Education:

  • Must be enrolled in a master's degree program at a partner university in the fields of Social Work, Counselor Education, Psychology, or related field.

Experience:

  • Possesses basic understanding of the “helping relationship” and active listening skills
  • Demonstrate good communicates skills – verbal and written
  • Demonstrate understanding of strengths-based philosophy
