Job description

The Team

The Innovation & Delivery Transformation (I&DT) team is building the future of Deloitte's business through new AI-native platforms and products. The team is responsible for identifying, nurturing, scaling, and winning in new markets through new capabilities. Rather than relying on what the firm has historically done, I&DT looks ahead and invests in areas where growth is expected three, five, and ten years into the future.

This role is aligned to the Converge for Life Sciences portfolio, Deloitte's AI-enabled platform portfolio for the modern life sciences enterprise. Converge by Deloitte combines proprietary data assets, advanced analytics, and AI-driven decision intelligence to help pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical product organizations accelerate the pace of discovery, development, and commercialization, while improving compliance and operational visibility across the enterprise.

This role is 100% dedicated to FastForward, the flagship commercial-engagement offering within the portfolio. Delivered most often as a Managed Platform-as-a-Service (MPaaS) for Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud (LSC), FastForward stands up a fully configured, AI-ready commercial org for mid-market life sciences companies in weeks rather than quarters. It pairs a standardized 90/10 configuration model, roughly 90% pre-built and 10% client-tailored, with a small Deloitte managed-operations team, giving emerging and commercial pharma organizations enterprise-grade field capabilities (visit, sample, account, territory, and product management, plus embedded Agentforce intelligence) without enterprise-scale build cost or complexity.

Position Summary

As a Product Forward Deployed Engineer (pFDE), this role is the technical engine of the FastForward pre-sales cycle. Working across Product Management, Engineering, Account, and Pursuit teams, and in close partnership with the FastForward Sales Executive, the pFDE builds and leads product demonstrations, proves technical fit and feasibility, and translates client workflows into credible solution approaches that move opportunities from qualification through proof of value.

Recruiting for this role ends on 9/3/2026.

Work you'll do

We're seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant Product Forward Deployed Engineer (pFDE) to own the technical side of the FastForward pre-sales cycle. This is an experienced individual-contributor role for someone who operates independently: building and running product demonstrations end to end, shaping solutions directly with clients and internal teams, and raising the technical quality of every FastForward pursuit. Success is measured by technical wins, demonstration quality, and the strength of the pursuits it enables. Day to day, the pFDE will have the following key responsibilities:

Pre-Sales Discovery & Technical Qualification:

  • Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective clients, alongside account, pursuit, and product teams, to understand commercial workflows, data, integration needs, and success criteria for Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud.
  • Independently qualify product fit and feasibility, distinguishing standard FastForward capability (the ~90% pre-built configuration) from client-specific customization, and help determine whether an opportunity stays product-led or is routed elsewhere.
  • Partner closely with the FastForward Sales Executive to shape opportunities, sequence pursuit milestones, and resolve technical objections throughout the sales cycle.

Product Demonstrations & Proofs of Concept

  • Build, own, and lead FastForward product demonstrations end to end, configuring demo environments, tailoring scenarios to the client's therapeutic area and field roles (Reps, MSLs, KAMs, and FRMs), and presenting to both technical and business audiences.
  • Independently stand up and configure demo orgs and proof-of-concept environments, including FastForward's pre-configured commercial modules and embedded Agentforce intelligence (summarization, Next Best Action, and pre-call planning).
  • Run fit-gap assessments and proof-of-value exercises that give prospects a credible, hands-on view of the platform before contracting.

Solution Shaping & Cross-Functional Support

  • Develop credible solution approaches and technical narratives in partnership with account, pursuit, product, and engineering teams.
  • Serve as the technical bridge between the field and the product organization, feeding client requirements, objections, and market signals back to Product Management and Engineering to inform the FastForward roadmap.
  • Support account teams with technical inputs to proposals, scoping boundaries, and transition-to-delivery clarity so qualified opportunities hand off cleanly.

Reusable Assets & Enablement

  • Build reusable technical assets, reference configurations, and demo scripts from pursuit work so the team scales without rebuilding from scratch each time.
  • Develop go-to-market and strategic documentation that supports pursuit strategy and product positioning.
  • Share demonstration and technical best practices with newer pFDEs and pursuit-team members, raising the technical bar across FastForward pre-sales.

The successful candidate would possess these skills:

  • Clear, audience-aware communication: explains technical concepts credibly to both technical and business stakeholders and tells a compelling product story in a live demo.
  • Strong organization and prioritization: manages multiple concurrent pursuits and demo builds at once, and sequences competing priorities well.
  • Collaborative, team-first mindset: works fluidly across Sales, Product Management, Engineering, Account, and Pursuit teams, and is comfortable being the connective tissue between the field and the product organization.
  • Self-directed ownership: drives demos and technical qualification end to end and moves work forward without needing close direction.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience defined as an additional 4+ years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in solution consulting, sales engineering, technical pre-sales, forward-deployed engineering, or comparable client-facing technical roles, with a demonstrated ability to operate independently.
  • Hands-on technical experience configuring or building on Salesforce (e.g., administrator-level configuration, flows, validation rules, and other declarative/point-and-click tools), sufficient to build and run product demonstrations without engineering support.
  • Experience independently building and delivering 5+ product demonstrations, proofs of concept, or comparable client-facing technical deliverables.
  • Experience supporting the pre-sales cycle, including technical discovery and translating client needs into solution approaches.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish standard product capability from custom work and to communicate that distinction clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Product Management, Engineering, Account, and Pursuit teams, including experience working directly with sales professionals in a pursuit setting.
  • Ability to travel 20-25%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Preferred:

  • Hands-on experience with Salesforce Life Sciences Cloud, Health Cloud, or Veeva CRM, and familiarity with the Salesforce-Veeva CRM transition affecting mid-market life sciences.
  • Prior hands-on experience in the client delivery and implementation of field force technology such as Veeva CRM, IQVIA OCE or Salesforce.
  • Experience with Salesforce Agentforce or comparable AI-agent / GenAI capabilities embedded in enterprise applications.
  • Experience in life sciences or healthcare commercial technology environments (e.g., CRM, field engagement, patient services, or market access).
  • Prior experience as a Managed Services Consultant leading full-cycle technology implementation projects, ideally within Life Sciences Commercial or Customer engagement platforms.
  • Prior experience stepping in after go-live to provide ongoing admin support, acting as the product specialist for clients already up
  • Experience building reusable demo assets, reference configurations, or accelerators for a product or pursuit team.
  • Familiarity with data loading, integration patterns, and CRM data models common to life sciences commercial operations, as well as CLI-based deployment or configuration-as-code approaches.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $105,400-$207,800.

You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
