Our Client is combining Big Data Machine Learning & Computer Vision with IoT in a unique way to shift the paradigm of life science product development and approvals. The system currently generates a video volume of about one third of what YouTube is generating... So this is truly a meaty DevOps opportunity!

Job Description

ICE Group Client scaled fast and this DevOps role is a critical addition to our engineering team. Your mission will be to take control of our already sizable AWS infrastructure using your talents to both optimize what we have and prepare us for massive growth. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to help us connect our cloud infrastructure to the world of advanced electronics: where the cloud meets IoT. Finally, in the spirit of DevOps you will be embedded with talented developers to streamline our entire engineering cycle. Plus we will let you play with all the latest toys, we are big on Docker and Ansible to name a just a few.

Meaningful Things You'll Do:

  • You will manage our expansion on AWS and be the go to person for scalability and availability concerns.
  • You will lead our systems management and optimization efforts, working across groups to keep us sharp.
  • You will work closely with experts in data science, computer vision, and software to simply get stuff done.


Qualifications

Your Talents:

  • Strong Python and scripting experience.
  • Strong experience in the AWS universe
  • Advanced knowledge of automation frameworks such as Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt
  • Strong background in relational database technologies, Postgres is preferred.
  • Experience managing tens to hundreds of servers on AWS or a similar managed cloud service.
  • Solid understanding of network fundamentals (DHCP, DNS, ARP, BGP, TCP/IP, HTTP, etc.)
  • Experience with container technologies such as Docker or LXC.ย 

Bonus Points For:

  • Experience with Cassandra or another NoSQL database.
  • Hands on experience with Marathon, Mesos, Chronos.
  • Experience with Debian.
  • Experience with CircleCI or Travis.
  • Familiarity with Raspberry Pi.
