Job description

Pharmacy Technician (Pharmacy Tech)

Vighter is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) which provides professional healthcare staffing services to Federal, State and Local government clients. The company is quality focused and registered ISO 9001:2015 and accredited by The Joint Commission in Healthcare Staffing Services. Vighter is recruiting multiple Pharmacy Technicians (Pharmacy Techs) for positions at Luke Air Force Base, Arizona. Pharmacy technicians perform a variety of tasks to ensure patients receive the correct medication and care, including, gathering information from customers and health professionals to fill prescriptions, and measuring, mixing and calculating the correct amounts and dosages of medication for prescriptions. Pharmacy technicians additionally package and label prescriptions.

Key responsibilities include performing inpatient pharmacy technician duties, understanding and enforcing compliance with USP 797 and USP 800 regulations, managing patient-specific pharmacokinetic regimens, providing medication and healthcare related in-service training to clinical staff, documenting pharmacy interventions appropriately in the EHR, and facilitating medical staff drug utilization reviews (DURs) as deemed necessary.

Experience and education requirements include a high school or GED equivalency, certification by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Health career Association (NHA ExCPT), and a deep sense of purpose and dedication to the United States and our U.S. Military Veterans, their Families, and other patients as assigned.

Physical requirements include the ability to sit for more than 8 hours per day, willingness to work overtime if necessary, ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry up to 10 feet, ability to routinely grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbows/knees and reach above and below shoulders, ability to read and interpret handwritten and typewritten print, ability to communicate by voice and detect sound by ear, ability to perform duties in an indoor office or outdoor environment, and passing a criminal background investigation and undergoing urine drug screening (UDS).
