What is a life coach?

A life coach is a professional who helps individuals identify their goals, overcome obstacles, and develop strategies to achieve personal and professional growth. Life coaches use various techniques to support clients in areas such as career transitions, relationships, health, and overall life satisfaction. Unlike therapists, life coaches focus on the present and future, guiding clients toward actionable steps and accountability. Working with a life coach can enhance self-awareness, motivation, and confidence, leading to a more fulfilling life.

What skills and qualifications are needed to be a life coach?

To thrive as a Life Coach, strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and a foundational understanding of coaching methodologies—often supported by certification from organizations like the International Coach Federation (ICF)—are essential. Familiarity with assessment tools, goal-setting frameworks, and client management systems is typical in this field. Exceptional empathy, motivational ability, and nonjudgmental communication help coaches build trust and inspire clients to achieve their goals. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively guiding clients through personal or professional growth and fostering lasting positive change.

How do life coaches typically structure their client sessions?

Life coaches usually begin client sessions by identifying the client's goals and challenges, followed by collaborative discussion to create actionable plans. Sessions often include reflective questioning, progress reviews, and setting specific, measurable objectives for the next meeting. As a life coach, you may work independently or as part of a coaching agency, with flexible schedules that accommodate client availability. Over time, you’ll build long-term relationships with clients, tracking their personal development and adjusting strategies as needed. Effective communication and strong organizational skills are essential for managing multiple clients and ensuring consistent progress.

AspectLife CoachingMental Health Counseling
CredentialsCertifications like ICF, CPC, or ACCMaster's degree in psychology, counseling license

Do life coaches really make money?

Life coaching can be a profitable career, with earnings varying based on experience, niche, and client base. Successful coaches often charge hourly rates or package sessions, and many supplement income through online courses, workshops, or group coaching. Income levels can range from modest to six figures for established professionals.

Is life coaching a good career?

Life coaching is a growing profession that involves helping clients set and achieve personal or professional goals. Success in this field often requires strong communication skills, certification, and building a client base, with income varying widely based on experience and reputation.

What qualifications do you need to be a life coach?

To become a life coach, there are no strict legal requirements, but many employers prefer candidates with relevant training or certification from recognized programs. Skills such as active listening, communication, and empathy are essential, and obtaining a certification from organizations like the International Coach Federation (ICF) can enhance credibility and job prospects.

Job description

About ZoQuote

ZoQuote is a telesales insurance agency helping families across the country secure Final Expense life insurance coverage by phone.

We are growing our agent team and looking for licensed producers who want a simple operation: show up, work the phones, and get

  paid.

We handle the marketing. You handle the conversations.

  What You Will Do

  - Work company-provided, exclusive real-time leads by phone (no cold calling)

  - Present and close Final Expense life insurance with point-of-sale, instant-decision carriers

  - Complete electronic applications during the call

  - Follow proven inbound and outbound telesales scripts built for FEX

  - Manage your pipeline inside our GoHighLevel CRM and dialer

  What ZoQuote Provides

  - Exclusive, real-time leads at no cost to you (company-funded, not deducted from commissions)

  - GoHighLevel CRM, dialer, and a dedicated business phone number

  - Proven telesales scripts and a full objection-rebuttal library

  - Carrier contracting with advanced commissions paid upfront at policy issue

  - Underwriting cheat sheets for each carrier

  - Ongoing training, coaching, and compliance support

  - Access to all life lines: Final Expense, Mortgage Protection, Term, and IUL

  Compensation

  - Advanced commissions: paid at policy issue, not as premium is collected

  - No earnings cap

  - No lead cost, no desk fee, no monthly charges

1099 (uncapped) COMISSION ONLY

  Requirements

  - Active life and health insurance license in at least 10 of the following states: AL, AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IN, LA, MA, NC, NJ, NM, OH, PA, SC, TX, VA, WV

  - Reliable phone, computer, and internet connection

  - Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely without supervision

  - Phone sales experience is strongly preferred; licensed agents new to telesales are welcome to apply

This Role Is a Strong Fit If You:

  - Have sold Final Expense, Mortgage Protection, or other life products by phone

  - Are tired of buying your own leads

  - Want a full back-office setup on day one without the overhead

  - Are looking for a long-term home agency with room to grow your income

  To Apply

Submit your application through ZipRecruiter or visit zoquote.com/careers to apply directly. Include your resident state, all

states you hold a current life license in, and a brief note about your telesales background.
