Job description

Job Overview

Fairview has an immediate opening for a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Dermatology Care team in Maple Grove, MN This is a 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two week pay period), benefits-eligible opening. Clinic Hours of Operation are Monday-Friday: 6:45AM–5:00PM. NO WEEKENDS! 

The Dermatology Clinic provides a wide range of comprehensive services in treating various skin conditions medically, surgically and cosmetically. We diagnose and treat skin cancers, skin conditions such as psoriasis/rashes/acne and provide cosmetic treatments through a variety of lasers/fillers/facial peels/Botox. Our team of providers, nurses, support staff and other health care professionals work together providing patients with quality dermatologic services to achieve healthy skin for life.

The LPN performs delegated nursing and medical functions of data collection and delivery of care to an assigned group of patients, or individualized patient.  The LPN works under the direction of a Registered Nurse, or physician/authorized practitioner and in collaboration with other members of the healthcare team.  The LPN is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines. 

Responsibilities

  • Follows the patient’s plan of care.
  • Prioritizes work based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences, in collaboration with the RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
  • Performs high and low risk technical procedures, including medications, defined by the clinical setting.
  • Recognizes when different approaches may be needed based on age or cultural differences.
  • Implements assigned aspects of the patient teaching plan.
  • Documents care in the medical record.
  • Effectively communicates compliance and concerns to delegating RN or physician/authorized practitioner.
  • Takes action to assure continuity of care for all assigned patients.
  • Adheres to all relevant policies, procedures, and nursing practice guidelines.
  • Responds appropriately to emergent situations.
  • Documents care in the medical record.
  • Communicates verbal and written information in a clear, concise, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Use communication approaches appropriate to patient/family needs.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program is required.
  • Current LPN License
  • Basic Life Support Certification is required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ambulatory Care Experience is preferred.
  • At least 1 year of Clinical Experience is preferred.
